Fulbright Association Conference, Beijing, China
The 31st Annual Conference of the Fulbright Association was held at Beijing, China, on October 20-22, 2008. Sixteen members Pakistani delegation consisting of Fulbright alumni, their spouses and USEFP staff participated in the conference. The theme of the conference was “The Interconnected World”. In addition to various plenary sessions, roundtable discussions were held on various sub-themes of the conference. All of the participants from Pakistan enthusiastically took part in the academic, social and cultural events scheduled during the alumni conference. Moreover, it was a wonderful opportunity for networking and renewing the life long bond of being a Fulbright alumnus.
In addition to their participation in the alumni conference, Pakistani delegation got an opportunity to visit the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing. Ambassador Masood Khan welcomed the Pakistani delegation and gave an overview of the historic relationship between China and Pakistan. The Pakistani delegation thanked the Ambassador and his staff for their kind hospitality. The delegates also got a chance to visit the Great Wall, Tianjin square and other historical places in and around Beijing.
