The program allows senior U.S. scholars and professionals for two to six weeks to undertake collaborative projects with their counterparts at higher education institutions in Pakistan. Projects must be approved by USEFP; the process is often competitive. The goals of the program include developing linkages between U.S. and Pakistani academic institutions. Non-U.S. post-secondary academic institutions and institutions which do not grant post-secondary degrees but do provide an educational focus to their programming are eligible to host a U.S. scholar or profession although the Fulbright Specialists Program. Non-academic hosts may include libraries, museums, and hospitals as well as Ministries of Education.

The program is flexible and does not have a structure of deadlines
Duration: Two to six weeks

Eligible Academic Fields

Agriculture, American (U.S.) Studies (The following specializations with a specific U.S. focus are eligible: art, art history, dance, history, literature, music, popular culture, religion, theater and women's studies), Anthropology, Applied Linguistics –TEFL, Archaeology, Business Administration, Communications and Journalism, Economics, Education, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Law, Library Science, Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Public/Global Health, Social Work, Sociology, Urban Planning.

Fulbright Specialists project requests will also be accepted in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) teaching or administration fields. These fields will include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.
