The Near East and South Asia (NESA) began in 2007 and has been running successfully for the last five years. The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan will be selecting undergraduates from Pakistan to study at a university in the U.S. for a year under this program. Students in their first or second year of university (or the equivalent of years 13 and 14) as long as they have a year to complete their degree are eligible. The NESA program also entails community service and internship components. NESA participants will be required to perform a minimum of 20 hours of community service to local organizations during their first semester. They will also be required to intern 40 hours per month during their second semester. Each fellow's internship must be related to their field of study as stated in their application.
