Mr. Shehzad Roy's Profile

Mr. Shehzad Roy is a renowned humanitarian. President and founder of ZINDAGI Trust, a non-profit charitable organization, that seeks to educate the underprivileged children of Pakistan. Zindagi Trust reforms Government schools. Under this program, Zindagi Trust has introduced Life Skilled Base Education (LSBE). Initially the LSBE was introduced to the two adopted schools; Fatima Jinnah School and Khatoon-e-Pakistan School.

The LSBE curriculum of Zindagi Trust schools has also been adopted by the Government of Sindh and now it is part of the curriculum of all Government schools in the province of Sindh, after Zainab case in Kasur.

In June 2004, Mr. Roy was honored as one of the youngest ever recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, which is one of the highest Civil Honors awarded in Pakistan for excellence in serving humanity.

For his organization’s earthquake rehabilitation in Kashmir, he was also awarded the Sitara-e-Eisaar by the President of Pakistan. He was selected to be a torch bearer for the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay as the Pride of Pakistan.

Mr. Shehzad Roy took the city of Chicago by storm when he was awarded the 2009 Patricia Blunt Koldyke Fellowship award for excellence in social entrepreneurship.

Most recently, Mr. Shehzad Roy has been appointed as National Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

With all the laurels as humanitarian and social activist, Mr. Shehzad Roy is also a pop music icon.
