Dr. Sardar Mohazzam's Profile

Dr. Sardar Mohazzam has worked as MIT Climate Colab Fellow and currently working with development sector in Pakistan. He was Fulbright Scholarship for his PhD in Energy and Environmental Policy. He was awarded AusAID Master’s Scholarship for Master in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

His team is the winner of MIT Climate Colab for 2014 for an innovative financing mechanism for renewable energy. He is currently working with an international development organization for Pakistan’s energy sector. He has served as Assistant Professor for Government and Public Policy Department, National Defense University, Islamabad.

Abstract

Pakistan’s Sustainable Energy for All

As the Lead Consultant for the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All) in Pakistan under UNDP umbrella. I have developed the National Action Plan and Investment Prospectus for Pakistan. My counterpart for this work are Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Finance and other provincial energy and planning departments.

In this presentation, I would like to discuss the findings of SE4All and present the key issues of Pakistan energy sector. I would like to discuss the way forward for research and share with the young entrepreneurs to explore the energy sector under different policy regimes.
