6TH FULBRIGHT & HUMPHREY ALUMNI CONFERENCE 2009, ALLAMA IQBAL UNIVERSITY, ISLAMABAD
The 6th Annual Fulbright and Humphrey Alumni Conference was held at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad on April 24 – 26, 2009. The theme of the conference was Today’s Pakistan: Challenges and Opportunities.
One hundred and ninety-seven Fulbright and Humphrey alumni, representing all the four provinces of Pakistan attended the conference. In addition to a large number of Pakistani alumni, some U.S. scholars and USEFP Board Members also attended the conference. A special Plenary Session was held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 24th. The Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge d’ Affaires U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Mr. Gerald Michael Feierstein chaired the session and gave his Key Note Address. The alumni were delighted to hear from the DCM how the U.S. Government is supportive and keenly interested in the socio-economic development of Pakistan, particularly in the education sector. The alumni very much appreciated DCM’s address to the participants of the 6th Annual Fulbright and Humphrey Alumni Conference as well as taking questions from the alumni.
